After outlining Jeremy Lamb yesterday, it seems as though Lamb and the player I’m reviewing today have a lot in common. Andre Drummond is also a UConn product, 2012 NBA Draft Lottery Pick, and absolutely lighting up the 2013 Orlando Summer League. Averaging 15.7 points and 15 rebounds per game, Drummond is making the OSL look like child’s play. During his last game against the Miami Heat, he notched an OSL record high 18 rebounds to go along with his 23 points. It’s pretty obvious that Drummond doesn’t belong playing Summer League, but it may be a preview of what is to come in the 2013-14 season.
This past season, Andre Drummond showed his massive potential playing in 60 games and averaging 20.7 minutes per game. The UConn product is extremely athletic and a raw defensive talent. He even stole the ball from Dwyane Wade, taking the ball coast to coast and scoring. Drummond also averaged 7.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. With the Pistons adding Georgia sharpshooter Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and top player Josh Smith, Drummond should flourish with this abundance of new talent. Andre Drummond is only 19 years old. As an aggressive rebounder, having a great inside game, and many of his greatest years ahead of him, Drummond will be a top 5 Center in the league within the next three or four years.
